What is NHS login?
NHS login allows you to access lots of different health and care websites and apps with just one set of login details. You can securely access many digital health and care services with one email address and password.
You only need to setup your NHS login once. There are lots of health and care websites and apps that allow you to use NHS login. These include NHS services, online pharmacies, patient access services, and online consultation services. For a full list link HERE
To setup NHS login, either:
- Download the NHS APP to your smart phone (from Apple Store or Google Play)
OR
- Link to the NHS APP on the NHS website HERE

What you need to set up an NHS login
You will need:
- an email address (with more than 6 characters)
- a mobile phone number
To have an NHS account, you must be aged 13 or over and registered with a GP surgery in England.

What you can do with full access to your NHS account
You’ll need to provide extra proof of who you are to get full access to your NHS account. Once you have full access, you can:
- receive messages from your GP - receive messages from your surgery and message your surgery or health professional online
- order repeat prescriptions – see your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription
- choose a pharmacy - nominate or change the pharmacy your prescriptions are sent to
- book appointments – search for, book and cancel appointments at your GP surgery, and see details of your upcoming and past appointments
- view your GP health record – securely access your GP health record to see information like your allergies and your current and past medicines. If your GP has given you access to your detailed medical record, you can also see information like test results and details of your consultations
- get your NHS COVID Pass – view and download your COVID Pass for travel abroad.
- register your organ donation decision – choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision
- find out how the NHS uses your data – choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning
- view your NHS number – find out what your NHS number is
- choose how the NHS uses your data
- use NHS 111 online - answer questions and get instant advice or medical help near you
What you can do without full access to your NHS account
Both before and after providing extra proof of your identity, you can use your NHS account to:
- get health advice – search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments. You can also answer questions to get instant advice or medical help near you using NHS 111 online
- get advice about coronavirus – get information about coronavirus and find out what to do if you think you have it
