Out of Hours GP service

The out of hours GP service is a separate facility where a team of GPs and nurse practitioners provide services outside of normal opening hours on weekdays, bank holidays and weekends. They offer help, advice and treatment if you have an urgent clinical need that cannot wait for your own GP practice to open.

If you require urgent medical assistance outside opening hours, that cannot wait until the Trent View surgery reopens, please contact NHS 111. You can contact NHS 111 online HERE or dial 111.  Calls to 111 are free of charge from both landlines and mobiles.

The out of hours GP service - accessed via NHS 111 - is paid for by TVMP but delivered by a separate company called Safecare (Safecare Network Limited), trading as Ashby Clinic, Collum Lane, Scunthorpe.

The CQC categorises Safecare Network Limited as a “Service Provider” and Ashby Clinic as an “Independent Doctor”. The CQC's latest report for Ashby Clinic, published 06/01/2023, describes Safecare Network Limited as “a not-for-profit Federation of 19 North Lincolnshire GP practices, covering approximately 170,000 patients” (i.e. the whole of North Lincolnshire). Based on that last CQC report, services managed by Ashby Clinic are overall rated as Requires improvement; with the questions “Are services safe?” and “Are services well-led?” both rated as Requires Improvement. Other questions are rated as ‘Good’. The full CQC report is available on the CQC website HERE.
